Abu Dhabi has revised its travel green list, with the number of destinations reduced to 73 from 95 previously.

The new list released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) is expected to come into effect on Sunday, December 26.

All travelers arriving from destinations on the updated green list will be exempt from mandatory quarantine measures after landing in Abu Dhabi.

The countries excluded from the previous list are Algeria, Belize, Bhutan, Bolivia, Brunei, Burundi, Chile, Colombia, Comoros, Ecuador, Estonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Malta, Mauritius, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, San Marino, Seychelles, Tunisia and Uruguay.

In addition, two countries have been added including Papua New Guinea and Iraq.

All travelers will be required to present a negative Covid-19 PCR test result, valid a maximum of 48 hours prior to departure and undergo a PCR test upon arrival at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

Passengers vaccinated on the green list will take another PCR test on day 6 (the day of arrival in Abu Dhabi is counted as day 1). Unvaccinated travelers from Green List countries should have PCR testing on days 6 and 9.

In September, the emirate removed the quarantine requirement for all vaccinated travelers arriving in Abu Dhabi from all international destinations.

The green list refers to the origin of the inbound trip, not the nationality of the passenger.

According to DCT Abu Dhabi, the move supports the relaxation of travel restrictions while maintaining security protocols.
