J&K’s Tourism Department’s participation in OTM Mumbai was warmly welcomed as the J&K booth was packed with large numbers of visitors.

During a B2B session, the Tourism Department delegation comprising of Kashmir Director of Tourism, Dr. GN Itoo, SKICC Director, Bakshi Javed Hymaun and JTGC Secretary, Manav Gupta briefed the delegates on the initiatives taken by UT administration to further promote tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.

The delegation informed the public of the 75 new destinations being developed by the Department to further diversify UT’s range of tourism products, in addition to opening new hiking routes and other infrastructure improvements. They were briefed on the success stories of tourism players post-Covid-19 as well as plans for the calendar of various events throughout the year so that tourists know about them in advance.

On this occasion, a heritage calendar designed by the Department was also unveiled and distributed to delegates.

On the sidelines of the three-day event, Dr Itoo held separate meetings with representatives of the Maharashtra Tour Operators Association (MTOA), the Association of Travel Agents of Pune (TAAP) and tour operators from Nasik and Nagpur and briefed them on the current state of tourism. potential and market. He also briefed them on the success of winter tourism seen in Jammu and Kashmir. Later in the day, he held a detailed meeting with representatives of the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) who expressed their desire to hold their next annual convention in Srinagar.

Meanwhile, the J&K Tourism booth at the OTM saw a huge rush with many tour operators and travel enthusiasts inquiring about the tourism products and services on display.

Maldives Government Tourism Minister Abdullah Mussam, Tamil Nadu Tourism Minister Dr. M. Mathiventhan and Mr. Sandeep Nanduri, Director of Tourism and Managing Director of TTDC were among the dignitaries who visited the J&K booth.
