How to Apply to Become a Coral Reef Gardener in the Maldives

If successful, you will be flown to the luxurious Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu resort.

This is where you will work with the Maritime Educator on your three-week placement in September.

Your job will be to help them manage and promote coral growth in the surrounding reefs.

This task is vital for marine conservation and the preservation of aquatic life as a whole.

As an intern, you will support the team’s replanting programs that aim to strengthen these vital ecosystems.

This dream role is perfect for ecology and marine enthusiasts who want to learn more about developing artificial frameworks, planting corals and identifying fish in reefs.

This truly unique position will also see your work with nearby local islands on their coral reef regeneration programs.

It’s not all work either, you can enjoy some downtime and explore the beautiful surroundings of the Indian Ocean.

Guests can enjoy some of the fantastic experiences offered to resort guests, including a special sunset cruise or spa treatment.

Ms Bailie continued: “Sustainability has always been at the heart of what we do at Coco Collection, from the use of sustainable alternatives on the island to our tree planting programs and our longstanding partnership with the Olive Ridley Project – we know we have a duty to protect this unique ecosystem for immediate and future generations. We hope our new intern reflects this ethos and we look forward to receiving applications for this fantastic opportunity to come join the team and further their green mission.

If you are interested in this dream opportunity, you must follow the steps below:

  • Submit a link to a 2-3 minute video
  • Write a 500-word cover letter explaining why you think you would be a good candidate for the position.
