An international tourism fair titled the 10th Mastercard Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair 2022 kicked off in the capital on Wednesday, after a three-year hiatus due to the Covid pandemic.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary Md Mokammel Hossain inaugurated the three-day fair during a ceremony at the Bangabandhu International Convention Centre.

The fair will remain open to visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily until April 1, offering trips within the country and abroad at a reduced rate before the holidays during the next two Eid festivals.

The entrance fee for each visitor has been set at 30 Tk while students can visit the fair for free by presenting their identity card.

Many local tour operators, agents, presented their offers for travelers to visit attractive tourist destinations in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Tourism Board, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation and Bangladesh Tourism Police also participated in the fair and showcased their tourism promotion activities.

Three Siliguri-based travel agents, Eastern Meadows Tours, Sikha Tours and Travel and AKK Cruiser, Kolkata-based travel agent Wiz Hospitality and Maldives-based Sunsand Maldives Pvt Limited also presented their offers as foreign participants while traveling in their respective countries.

The Bangladesh Tour Operators Association organized the show, of which Mastercard Bangladesh is the title sponsor while the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Tourism Board, Parjatan Company, Federation of Chambers of Commerce and of Industry of Bangladesh and US Bangla Airlines are co-sponsors.
