Couples whose honeymoons didn’t go as planned could get the chance to do it all over again – but this time on a hassle-free Maldives vacation
Honeymoons are meant to be an exciting journey for newlyweds, whether you’re checking off a bucket list destination or exploring some of the most romantic places in the world.
Unfortunately, not all honeymoons go as planned.
Bad weather, cancellations due to the Covid pandemic or simple accidents can quickly turn a dream holiday into a nightmare – which is particularly daunting when it comes to celebrating your new life together.
But a travel agency seeks to give a couple whose honeymoon went wrong the chance to escape. Oh, and this time it will be a FREE trip to the Maldives!
Yes, we’re talking about water villas with private pools, luxury restaurants, lavish spa treatments and, of course, plenty of time to relax on those picture-perfect white sand beaches.

Winged Boots, a personal travel management company, is offering a lucky couple a free 10-night full-board stay at Raffles Maldives Meradhoo Resort, which includes five nights in a beach pool villa and five in an overwater villa which has a private swimming pool. Oh, and you’ll also get £1,000 spending money to use in restaurants, bars or to book excursions.
The competition is open to couples married or in PACS before January 2022, and applications are already open on the Winged Boots site. (This is also where you will find the full terms and conditions).
To enter, couples simply need to explain why they think they deserve a second chance at a honeymoon, whether it’s a heartfelt story or your trip was filled with lots of hilarious mishaps (or not so hilarious).
You must register before April 11, 2022, the closing date for registrations. Shortlisted applicants will then be contacted for a video interview, and an independent judge will ultimately decide who wins the free vacation.
David Ox, managing director of Winged Boots, said the contest came about because the company “wanted to offer a couple the opportunity to celebrate their relationship with an unforgettable honeymoon experience in the Maldives”.
He added that winners will also have 24/7 access to a personal travel manager to help them plan the perfect itinerary for their trip.
Don’t be discouraged if the competition isn’t for you. If the Maldives is on your radar for that dreamy romantic vacation, although it’s not budget-friendly, there are ways to cut costs.
