The government has opened the window to apply for vacancies on the Maldives Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The possibility of candidacy was initially opened by the Office of the President on December 5, 2021 and the deadline was set for December 16, 2021.

It was reopened on December 20, 2021 and it was reopened, following the resignation of five members of the commission. The recent announcement repealed the extended time in December.

Nomination forms are available at the office reception and can also be downloaded from the official website of the President’s office.

The office revealed that the application window will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on January 16 and 17.

The members will be appointed by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih after being approved by the People’s Majlis and will be qualified in accordance with the constitution of the Maldives.

As such, members must “have the training, experience and recognized skills necessary to perform the functions of the commission.” Members of the commission are not to hold any other employment, the constitution says.

As an independent and impartial body, the ACC must discharge its duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Constitution and all laws promulgated by parliament, and its work is primarily to prevent and combat corruption in all areas. state activities without “fear” or intimidation.
