Jet-setters, seasoned travelers and those who are constantly on the move all share one important attribute; their insistence and ability to plan. There is no greater loss to the pleasure of a good tip than ineffective planning. The success of your travels depends entirely on the solid foundation of a good plan that you execute well.

So before we celebrate the lifting of lockdowns and travel restrictions by taking a multi-city tripyou have to learn to behave like those in the big leagues and step up your planning game.

It’s been two years of relative stagnation. One hundred and four weeks of observing, anticipating and constantly adapting to ever-changing rules and mandates that limited or restricted movement. So now we have come to this: the welcome news that many countries are reopening their borders.

So now is the time to dust off your passport and pick up your foreign travel bug. Although this is an exciting prospect, there are still many restrictions in Australia and most other countries around the world. So, to get you started on your travels on the right foot, here’s a handy guide guide to planning your multi-city trip:

First: Where can you go?

If you are fully vaccinated, rejoice. All Australian citizens and permanent residents who have completed the full course of vaccination against COVID-19 can now travel at will.

Additionally, travel to 163 countries is allowed (this number will increase as more countries announce openings closer to mid-year). However, unvaccinated travelers still face other restrictions.

This information allows you to prepare the relevant documentation before the trip to avoid any delays or even detention and deportation.

Finally, when planning your multi-city trips, remember to take all the necessary precautions to preserve your health. So make sure that you:

  • Prepare several face masks and carry spares. Also, always keep your mask on when you are in public and when using public transport or ride-sharing services.
  • Maintain appropriate social distancing.
  • Wash your hands often.
  • Monitor your body for symptoms of COVID-19 and self-isolate when detected.

But above all, have fun rediscovering the joys of traveling abroad thanks to a well-researched, well-thought-out and well-executed multi-city travel plan.
