International Maldives Travel Market (IMTM) Pvt. announced a date change for the fifth edition of its annual travel market show. The show is now scheduled to take place on September 7 and 8, 2022.

The IMTM show offers attendees a unique platform in the Maldives to connect with over 800 delegates and professionals from around the world, actively interact not only with existing clients, but also boost business and close deals with new clients.

The B2B Travel and Trade Fair has been rescheduled to facilitate travel and accessibility for international travel agents and tour operators to ensure the event reaches its full potential.

“We are delighted to physically resume our annual travel and trade show this year. Our priority is not just to organize the event, but to ensure that we reach as many international markets, travel agents and tour operators as possible so that they can explore the opportunities in the Maldives. We have decided to hold the fair at a later date to facilitate their journey to our destination. – Shiuna Khalid, Managing Director of IMTM

IMTM is striving to top its pre-pandemic performance with the return of the company’s Sustainable Tourism Forum (STF), last held in 2019. The STF will take place on September 6, a day before the travel and trade fair.

The forum allows industry experts to share their knowledge and experience on sustainable tourism practices focused on innovation, adaptation to climate change and building a resilient tourism industry in the Maldives.

This year, IMTM 2022 explores the theme ‘Adapting and Rethinking Tourism for Resilience’, in line with the hope of reinvigorating the tourism industry as countries around the world ease COVID-19 related restrictions.

The IMTM trade show invites leading tour operators, travel agencies and destination management companies from around the world, offering them the opportunity to foster relationships with key representatives of the Maldives tourism industry.

IMTM has received support from the Ministry of Tourism, MMPRC, Maldivian Tourism Industry Association (MATI) and National Yachts Association of Maldives (NBAM) for IMTM 2022. The event promotes prospects for inbound and outbound tourism in the country and actively markets the Maldives as a world-class MICE destination.
