Gujarat Titans Player (GT) David Miller made an astonishing effort in IPL 2022, making useful engagements in the middle order with the bat.
Many have mocked the Titans for investing resources in Miller, who hasn’t been able to live up to expectations over the past few IPL seasons. Either way, GT knew exactly what they needed from the hard-hitting South African. The southpaw was given a particular job and Miller passed it on to the best of his real ability, steering Gujarat to the title.

Temba Bavuma looks forward to the confidence David Miller will bring to the team
South Africa will be quick to use Miller’s certainty ahead of an important series against the Men in Blue. Bavuma also agrees that the IPL spell will do Miller a lot of good ahead of a turbulent season.
Speaking to the media before leaving South Africa, the 32-year-old said:
“The confidence he will bring to the team, we are looking forward to. He has performed extremely well at the IPL and I’m sure it will do a world of good for his confidence and whatever the feeling of insecurity that might be there.
The conversations I had with David, he never expressed those kinds of feelings to me.
No specific batting number for David Miller: Temba Bavuma
Temba Bavuma also emphasized that they are available for discussions on David Miller’s batting position given that he has largely been successful at the No. 5 position in the IPL. In any case, in his 83 T20I innings for South Africa, Miller only struck 5th 34 times.
Captain SA further added:
“David is still an integral part of our team and we are confident that his performance will continue into the future. As for him batting a bit longer, that has always been the conversation over the years when David has well done.
“He understands where he fits in the team. If he feels he can add more value in a different position, a conversation can take place in this regard. There’s no way to stifle it or restrain David in any way. This is how we try to treat all players.
David Miller will expect to continue with the energy as he continues his national team obligation in seven days.
