A tour operator has analyzed some of the most popular destinations for UK holidaymakers to find out which spot offers the most sunshine for the cost of a flight. And the survey found that resorts closer to home offered the best value for hours of sunshine ahead of more exotic locations.

Research of Destination2 watched a week-long break from April 4-10, avoiding price hikes for Easter weekend flights. Some of the most popular and sought-after holiday destinations have been included, such as Dubai, the Maldives, Spain and Italy.

Italy came out on top, with seven hours of average daily sunshine in April and return flights to Milan available for just £17. Further afield, travelers can enjoy 10 hours of sunshine per day (at an average daily temperature of around 26°C) at dubai.

Will Collins, Head of Digital Marketing at Destination2noted: “We know that many customers need to take a short break at the moment, and what better than guaranteed sunshine? We were able to select some of the best destinations to get the most sun for your money.

“We looked at search volume to find some of the places Britons most want to visit this year, then looked at the best prices for flights to that country and compared them to the average amount of daily sunshine. seven hours of daily sunshine from Italy, combined with great value flights to Milan for under £20, seems like a must-have deal.

“We’re also seeing a lot of interest in more remote destinations like Dubai, the Dominican Republic and Barbados from our customers at the moment – all of which are also seeing impressive average temperatures of 26-27C in April, for vacationers after a bit of heat.
