MALE, Maldives, November 16, 2021: Visit Maldives is running a marketing campaign with Anex Tour, one of the leading Russian tour operators selling tours to Asia during the winter months.

Anex Tour is one of the top five tour operators in Russia and the CIS region and owns the airline AZUR which operates charter flights to the Maldives.

The joint marketing campaign organized by Visit Maldives and Anex Tour focuses on the B2B and B2C travel markets in Russia to boost arrivals to the Maldives during the European winter months.

Activities include promotions and advertising in three shopping centers in Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as a radio network campaign with the Relaх radio station. Webinars will also be hosted to target agents who sell Anex Tour itineraries to inform them of the latest deals and new flight schedules to the Maldives. During the campaign, social media posts regarding the Maldives will be shared with travel agents on Anex Tour’s Telegram and Instagram pages.

This campaign is in line with Visit Maldives’ marketing strategies for Russia and the CIS region which keeps the destination dynamic and increases brand awareness by showcasing resorts, hotels, guesthouses and cruises that stimulate Azur Air winter flights / sales programs.

As of November 8, the Maldives welcomed 1,047,280 travelers to the country. Russia remains the second largest source market with 191,229 travelers, thanks to direct air connectivity between Russia and the Maldives via Aeroflot.
