The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has partnered with South Korean travel agencies – Palm Tour and Honeymoon Resort – for a joint campaign titled, Visit the Maldives… the romantic side of life.

The three-month campaign aims to promote the Maldives as one of the safest and most alluring honeymoon and romantic destinations.

Based in Seoul, Palm Tour is one of the best honeymoon agencies for outbound travel in South Korea. It has more than 15 branches nationwide and offers a wide range of Maldives products with various flight and resort options.

Honeymoon Resort is also one of the largest honeymoon travel agencies in the country and has over 10 years of experience with various honeymoon products and services in the Maldives.

The two agencies will develop exclusive promotional components online, as well as showcase Maldivian products at fairs, providing the latest destination information such as visa requirements and guidelines.

Palm Tour and Honeymoon Resort will organize other promotional activities, such as giveaways, to draw attention to the destination for honeymooners and honeymooners.

This campaign is part of MMPRC’s strategy to maintain the destination’s presence in the South Korean market.

MMPRC is currently planning familiarization trips, joint airline promotions and print advertising campaigns for the South Korean market this year.

Before the pandemic, South Korea was the third-largest outbound tourism source market in Asia-Pacific in 2019, with 28.7 million international departures. The Maldives welcomed 6,839 travelers from South Korea in 2021. There had been 7,191 tourists from this market in the Maldives as of May 15, 2022.
