The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has organized a webinar for travel agents and tour operators in the United States of America (USA).
MMPRC hosted the webinar as ‘High-End Adventures – The Maldives Awaits | United States 2022’.
The MMPRC said the purpose of the webinar was to educate US travel agents and tour operators and promote high-end adventures in the Maldives for travelers, showcasing the best of the destination.
The webinar took place on May 17, 2022. The one-hour session was joined by Yacht Maldives, Movenpick Resort Kuredhivaru Maldives and Crossroads Maldives.
MMPRC points out that this is the first webinar held this year to strengthen the Maldives brand in the North American market.
During the webinar, MMPRC Managing Director, Thoyyib Mohamed, highlighted the important relationship between the Maldives and the US travel industry.
Thoyyib highlighted the many awards and accolades the Maldives has won over the past few years, as well as the joy of vacationing in the Maldives during the Golden Jubilee year of the Maldivian tourism industry.
Additionally, attendees received an update regarding the latest travel guidelines in relation to the pandemic.
MMPRC presented a destination presentation showcasing the breathtaking beauty of the Maldives, the four tourism products (resorts, guesthouses, cruises, hotels) and the unique experiences offered in the Maldives.
Sleeping in a bubble tent on the beach, staying in a private water villa, and flying in a seaplane were among the many unique and exciting experiences being promoted.
Additionally, the security offered by the unique and socially remote geography of the Maldives was also highlighted in the video to promote the Maldives as a safe haven for travelers in the US market.
Industry partners showcased the latest product information and unique experiences specific to each property.
MMPRC emphasizes that the webinar provided an important platform for Visit Maldives industry partners to showcase their latest products to a wide audience of travel professionals in the US region and strengthen relationships with the US market.
With over 100 travel industry representatives registered, the session concluded with a question and answer session. The webinar ended with an exciting raffle sponsored by Saii Lagoon Maldives. The lucky winner won a 5-night all-inclusive holiday in the Maldives.
The United States was one of the main source markets for the Maldives last year. As of April 6, 2022, the Maldives has welcomed a total of 460,479 travelers, including 21,009 travelers from the United States. Several activities were carried out for the market last year. This includes joint marketing campaigns, webinars, participation in major fairs and exhibitions and the organization of familiarization trips. Similar activities are planned for this year.
