A new study, conducted by the agency Bounce, reveals that the most popular destination among tourists is the island nation of Maldives. And the country that comes second is India! The research, based on things like Google searches for flights, hotels and vacations over the past 12 months, revealed that data, says a press release shared by the agency.

What makes India one of the most popular countries to visit

The data, collected over the course of a year, reveals the top 10 destinations people want to visit around the world. While the Maldives ranks first with a record 2,457,000 searches on Google, India comes close behind, with 1,478,300 searches in total. The third most popular destination is Singapore, with a total of 1,224,500 Google searches.

What makes these three destinations so popular is actually their contrasting landscapes and the views they offer. While the Maldives is a popular place known for its exotic beaches and beautiful summer weather, India is known for hosting breathtaking attractions such as the Taj Mahal, the Golden Temple and various wellness and yoga retreats . Singapore, on the other hand, is popular as a business destination, and much of the travel here is for trade and investment.

According to reports, Las Vegas is the most popular city people like to visit for vacations, with a total of 9,688,000 Google searches for flights, hotels, and vacations. The other cities at the top of the list are New York, Miami and Dubai.

The Maldives has become a popular travel destination over the past 12 months due to its relaxed rules and comfortable ambience, attracting many Indian tourists as well. India, on the other hand, has bio-bubble agreements with several countries, making it an easier place to visit with its scenic beauty and cultural variety.
