International flights from the UK this half of February are up from the same period in 2021, but remain down from 2020 levels.
Flights from the UK to China fell 94% comparing the half of February 2022 to 2020 – the biggest drop
According to new data from analytics firm Cirium, this year’s level is 591% higher than in the February half of last year, but 38% lower than in 2020.
There would be 8,304 international flights scheduled from the UK during the February school holidays, which equates to 1,621,331 seats.
The February 2021 semester, however, saw just 1,201 international departures from the UK, while 2020 saw 13,422.
Spain is expected to see 1,354 flights from the UK this semester, making it the most popular destination for holidaymakers, followed by Ireland with 646 inbound flights.
Flights from the UK to China, meanwhile, fell 94% when comparing the half of February 2022 to 2020.
Flights between the UK and the Maldives have seen the biggest increase, with 133% more flights this half of February compared to the same period in 2020.
Midterm February this year is expected to see 8,293 flights land in the UK from international destinations.
