coordinate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to complete tourism recovery plans and develop a visa policy for foreign touristssaid ministry spokesman Le Thi Thu Hang at a press conference on February 17.
According to the spokesperson, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been instructed to work on regulations for international visitors and to join with relevant ministries and agencies to compile a detailed report on the visa policy to the government and the prime minister.
Visa procedures will basically continue to be carried out in accordance with existing legal documents such as the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnamshe said.
As of February 16, a total of 14 countries and territories have recognized Vietnam’s vaccine passport. These are Japan, USA, UK, Australia, India, Belarus, Cambodia, Philippines, Palestine, Maldives, New Zealand, from Sri Lanka, Egypt and Turkey.
A number of other partners are considering recognition and will respond soon, she said, noting that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese representative offices in foreign countries are working hard to gain recognition of Vietnam’s vaccine passport.
Vietnam has accepted vaccination certificates or vaccination passports from 79 countries and territories, which have been officially sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she said./.
